Smut & Tut cross stitch

Smut & Tut is my Etsy shop where I sell my cross stitch designs. These are inspired by the subversive cross stitch movement but draw on a highly British love of innuendo and smut, using euphemisms both visually and verbally. There’s more on how I developed these in this post.

They’re available as instantly downloadable PDF patterns or as complete kits with everything you need to make your own. The kits make excellent gifts for someone wanting to start cross stitch, more experienced stitchers – or anyone with a sense of humour.

All the patterns are designed to be easy for beginner stitchers, and include colour charts and tips for getting started and mounting work in a hoop.

I was interviewed for BBC Radio 4’s You and Yours programme in August 2020 about the rise of rude cross-stitching during lockdown. Cross stitch is a great way to relax and de-stress, and more portable than big crochet or knitting projects. Perfect for lunch breaks, long journeys, and cosy evenings in!

Do have a look – and if you try any of the patterns, let me know how you get on!
